I am writing to tell you about the exciting opportunity we have been given to take a group of students to the London Natural History Museum. This event takes place on Tuesday 26th February 2013, 8.30-6.00 pm. We will travel by coach to and from the museum.
Students will visit the ‘Cocoon’ exhibition at the museum, which is a self-guided tour and witness real biological specimens, incredible displays and animated interactive activities. Students will get the opportunity to view some of the museums most historic specimens and books for the first time in the historical display area at the start of the tour. Learn about great collectors and naturalists
We will meet outside at the Gipsy Lane Entrance of Cheney School at 8.15am on the 26th February. Students will need to bring a packed lunch and a drink as there are no lunch facilities at the museum. Food will be available from the school canteen before 8.15am for students to collect if they wish to do so.
We are requesting a voluntary contribution of £14 which includes transport (coach travel), staff cover, and insurance. The trip is subject to there being sufficient funds available to cover the costs and if the amount of voluntary contribution does not cover the cost of the trip, it may not be able to go ahead. This amount is non-refundable unless the trip is cancelled by the school. Free School Meal students have already been identified but please ensure you have completed the application paperwork and complete the slip below. If making this contribution will cause you financial hardship, please contact your college.
If you would like your child to attend and you give them parental permission to do so, please fill out the slip below and bring it with your money to the School Shop by Friday 8th February. Cheques can be made payable to Cheney School.
If by Friday 8th February we are over-subscribed, to ensure places are allocated fairly, we will draw lots. No cheques will be cashed before this date.
